Vans Gives the “Yacht Club” Old Skool a Pearlized Makeover

Vans is revisiting one of its more colorful Old Skool releases with the Old Skool 36 Pearlized “Yacht Club,” also listed in a “Green/Multi” colorway.

The pair pulls directly from the color blocking of the 2018 Vans Old Skool “Yacht Club,” bringing back its mix of green, blue, red, yellow, and white across the upper. This time around, Vans gives the familiar look a more decorative finish with pearl and crystal-like embellishments running across the Jazz Stripe, toe, tongue, and heel.

The construction keeps the intentionally worn-in aesthetic intact, with exposed and distressed detailing around the upper joined by a scuffed-looking white midsole. Blue suede frames the toe and eyestays, green canvas handles much of the base, while red and yellow hits complete the multicolor arrangement.

Rather than simply rereleasing the 2018 pair, the Old Skool 36 Pearlized “Yacht Club” takes its recognizable palette and pushes it into a more elevated, embellished direction.

The Vans Old Skool 36 Pearlized “Yacht Club” is scheduled to release on September 10 for $130 via Vans.com and select retailers.
