Nike Air Max 90 "Black & Hyper Crimson" Drops June 4

Tinker Hatfield’s Nike Air Max 90 has never needed much to work. Give it clean blocking, a strong material mix, and one or two sharp details, and the silhouette usually does the rest. That’s the case again with this upcoming "Black & Hyper Crimson" edition, which keeps things understated while adding just enough texture to separate itself from a standard grey-on-grey release.

The pair arrives in a layered mix of mesh and leather, with light grey covering the toe box, collar, and tongue. Darker grey overlays wrap the toe, eyestays, and midfoot, while black hits on the Swoosh, eyelet panels, liner, heel badge, and midsole wedge give the shoe a more grounded finish.

The mudguard is the standout detail here. Instead of a flat leather finish, Nike applies a subtle weathered-style print across the panel, giving the lower half of the shoe a slightly worn-in look without pushing too far into theme territory. It’s a small adjustment, but it adds needed depth to an otherwise simple palette.

Bright orange accents appear on the Air Max window, tongue detail, sockliner, and visible Air unit, giving the shoe a familiar Air Max 90-style pop. Underfoot, a grey midsole and black outsole keep the look balanced and easy to wear.

The Nike Air Max 90 "Black & Hyper Crimson" is expected to release on June 4 via select retailers like Foot Locker.
